Common questions
Is it the same as the CPU 8-pin to dual 8-pin cable?
No. This one takes a PCIe (VGA) 8-pin lead from the PSU. The CPU version takes an EPS/CPU lead. The pin layouts differ, so check which spare lead you have.
Can I power a high-end card with one lead split in two?
A single PCIe 8-pin lead is rated for 150W. For powerful cards, use two separate PCIe leads from the PSU where possible.
Can I plug it into the motherboard?
No. It is for graphics card power only.
